LANDSPEED LOUISE NOETH

Breaking records is just the beginning . . .

Louise Noeth

It’s amazing (and a bit exhausting) to follow all that LandSpeed Louise Noeth has done and is still doing.

LSL raced jet dragsters, helped TEAMVesco win the 458 mph world wheel-driven record, runs a production company, has written 3 books and is a film and TV extreme speed consultant.

According to her website LandSpeed Productions, after several years of touring North America as a professional auto racer campaigning a 250 MPH jet dragster, she was hired by Petersen Publishing Company in 1979.  As the first female editor-in-chief of any of the firm’s automotive publications, she produced HOT ROD Industry News and SEMA Show HOT ROD Hotline and was on the development team for HOT ROD Nationals and CAR CRAFT Nationals.

Founding LandSpeed Productions in 1984, Louise and her team offer creative writing, photography, film & TV consulting and a whole lot more.

LSL’s award-winning writing and photographic works have been published around the world in several languages. From The New York Times to Sports Illustrated to The Late Show with David Letterman and onto the international arena, her client list is diverse, thought-provoking and — for the most part — fun.

Louise serves as a judge for the Society of Professional Journalists, is the Chief Judge for the International Automotive Media Competition and helps a variety of hobbyist photography groups and county fair contests.

As one of few women auto writers/racers in America, her moniker “LandSpeed Louise” is well-deserved and hard-earned. She has served on several auto industry technical committees developing self-regulating guidelines in tires, suspension, emission controls and contributed to regulatory discussions with the Secretary of Energy in Washington, D.C. that resulted in a shift in national policy.

Comfortable and competent behind the wheel of any car or truck, she is also an accomplished motorcyclist, licensed pilot and blue water sailor.

Are you really surprised?

And then there are her books . . .

A fancy moniker for what Louise does is “photojournalist,” but she prefers “storyteller.”

“I want people to be comfortable, become enthused when they venture into my stories and come away with something useful for the time spent,” she explains.

So far, her published titles include:

Bonneville's Women of Land Speed Racing   (Images of Modern America series)
Bonneville: The Fastest Place on Earth   (Motorbooks Classics series)
Bonneville Salt Flats   (Images of America series)

Something tells us at Car Idiots Forever™ that LandSpeed Louise has a great many more surprising, fun and informative tales to tell!
