TRACI HRUDKA
A car gal through and through.
Most parents think of the quality of diapers when it comes to leaking. Not Traci Hrudka! If you ask her, it has to do with using a good quality gasket.
Born and raised in the Mr. Gasket family, Traci lives and breathes the quarter mile. Her father and uncle, creators of Mr. Gasket, were avid racers. Many a night for Traci was spent sleeping in the family’s station wagon at the track.
Over the years, she worked in the family business at Mr. Gasket. Ask her what she did, and she’ll say, “Everything.” Ask her which departments she worked in: “All of them.” Traci worked at Mr. Gasket until it was sold then moved to Intermec Technologies.
Throughout her upbringing, Traci was taught to respect and revere the legends of quarter mile racing. Today it has become a passion. Her dream was to build a platform to chronicle all of these priceless stories and turn them into a documentary film.
And, so, Traci founded the Quarter Mile Foundation, a non-profit with the mission to collect and archive the history of the sport of drag racing and the automotive aftermarket through first-person conversations, photos, films and other media. She sits on the board as chairman and keeps the spark alive.
With the Quarter Mile Foundation now in its 11th year, Ms. Hrudka continues her creative passion in this mission with Project 130, the working title of the documentary series.
She was awarded the Person of the Year in 1993 by Performance Warehouse Association, a well-deserved acknowledgement.
Traci also is an Ambassador and Co-Patron of the British Drag racing Hall of Fame for the Quarter Mile Foundation’s participation in rebuilding the Sydney Allard Dragster. While she represents the US, her Co-Patron on the UK side is the amazing Nick Mason, the drummer for Pink Floyd. Rock on Traci, rock on . . .
Traci is a car gal through and through. She doesn’t know anything else, and we wouldn’t want her any other way!
